When Mommy leaves for the night...

daddy sends pictures of happy kids.

Yay! Friday night movie!

(sign language for "I love you")

Cheap Thrills

Walker knows he is not supposed to play with the markers.

However, much like the dog who brings me a pair of half-chewed socks, Walker comes careening into the room with his contraband.

Based on his facial expressions, it was quite the thrill for him to live on the edge.

I did not record the post-marker-removal face.

It was not quite so joyful.

4th of July

This post could also be called "Saint Seth" since he took all three kiddos by himself to the neighborhood "bling-out your vehicle and parade." (Not sure if that is the EXACT title of the event but that's what I called it in my head anyway). Even Walker had a dash of festivity wrapped around the bottom of his stroller. Seth said the funny part of the parade was watching reactions as Wyatt did his one-handed weave in and out of the strollers in his gator. Dude can whip that bad boy around! Thanks sweet, wonderful hubby!

Happy 4th!

Rolling Solo

So I attempted to take all three kids to a birthday party in the country by myself.

 I'm an idiot.

Observe the one picture that is in no way an indicator of how the trip went.

3 year old t-ball

Seth made the commitment to coach Wyatt's first venture into t-ball. I'm pretty sure he earned himself some jewels in his crown on that one. I attended a few practices and it was a little like herding cats. He really enjoyed it though and so did Wyatt (until the evening makeup games which were one step down from molten lava hot. I think you Texans know what I'm sayin' here).

Go Phillies!

Here is big sister also earning jewels for her heavenly crown. She came to the games every Saturday and cheered. She was also a huge help with Walker! I'm going to call this one and say she is going to the "go-to" babysitter in about ten years.

"Knock the stitching off son!"

Three year old smack talk:)

Cheese! Now hand me the gatorade!

World's cutest little team, yes?

Wyatt was preeeetty pumped about the ol' trophy. I know there's alot of negative talk about participation trophies but three seems a little young to deal with the loser/winner dynamic. We all know that will come soon enough.

Bird Feeder

Can you count the dove? We've counted up to 25 beneath our feeder (not including the sketchy-looking pigeon or the random parrot). The kids are beyond excited and have learned all the exotic types of birds that live in our neck of the woods: dove, sparrow, blackbird, pigeon. (That last line was a teensy sarcastic in case you missed it).
My kids are so thrilled by the birds and squirrels that I have decided the zoo is a complete waste of money at this current time. (Last time we went the two oldest were just as excited about the squirrel as they were about the rhino standing next to it.) That's it. Only trips to Petsmart after this.

So the feeder continued to be a hit all through summer and into fall until we began to notice that sparrows were the only ones showing up. (By showing up, I mean draining the entire feeder within a week.) Don't get me wrong! I love nature! I'm all for bringing it into our backyard.  However, as I walked around town observing the rangy sparrows duking it out in the Target parking lot over a lone popcorn kernel, I turned a more observant eye toward our own little sparrow habitat in our backyard.
Do you know what I saw?

Obesity!

Yes! We had unknowingly been contributors to our nation's obesity epidemic.

Bye bye feeder until next spring. No more enablement from THIS household!

I don't feel so good mom...
